  Next OKNAPC meeting is scheduled for August 24th at 2:00 p.m.  We will meet in Bristow, Oklahoma at the Spirit Bank.  The address is 601 N. Main, Bristow, OK 74010.  Mr. Bob Bates, our new Blue and Gold Officer, will be reporting on his prior training that he just received at the Naval Academy!  We are all looking forward to hearing about our new plebes.

 Oklahoma Appointees

 

Two to three weeks prior to Induction Day, some USNA Appointees from Oklahoma are given firearms instruction by certified rifle and pistol coaches at a gun range located on the John Zink Ranch.   The coaches volunteer their time to appointees who sign-up for the training sessions.    This offer is extended to appointees of USNA, USCGA and USMMA provided their is space available.   Since most appointees have never shot a firearm, the coaching focuses on the shooting fundamentals.  

During live fire, the B 27 silhouette target is used.  The SR21 rifle target is shot at 100 yards.
