"Mother B" is named after Secretary of the Navy
George Bancroft (1845-1846). Brancroft founded the Naval
Academy. This enormous complex is home to the brigade and is
the heart of the Academy. It has 4.8 miles of corridors and houses
over 4,200 midshipmen. |

is named after Franklin Buchanan, the first superintendent
of the USNA. It is the residence of the Superintendent. |

is named after Rear Admiral Alfred Thayer Mahan (1840-1914)
who was a naval historian, strategist and author of books on Nelson and
Farragut. His Sea Power lectures became the foundation for the Naval
War College. Mahan Hall is used for lectures and plays. |

is named after Rear Admiral Stephen B. Luce who founded the
U.S. Navy War College. All professional courses are taught
here. |

is named after mathematician William Chauvenet.
It houses the Math Department. |

| Rickover Hall |
is named after Admiral Hyman G. Rickover, the "Father
of the Nuclear Navy." The Engineering Departments are located
here. |

is named after Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz,
Commander-In-Chief of the Pacific Fleet in WW II. |
